Adolescent and Family Counseling
Adolescence is an important period of innovation and transition toward adulthood. Teenagers encounter drastic changes that are psychological, emotional, physical, and social. During this transitional period, they may run into issues such as parent/child conflicts, risky decision making, and emotional problems.
We provide individual therapy for teenagers using TEAM Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, developed by Dr David Burns at Stanford University. Since family is an important system for the teenager, we include Strategic Family Therapy as part of the treatment. Both treatment approaches are based on scientific evidence and shown to be most effective for teenagers when combined.

“Sunny has helped many of my teenage patients with a broad range of mental health issues such as depression, panic attacks, and anxiety. Teenagers find him approachable, making treatments more impactful because he quickly breaks down barriers with his caring and funny demeanor.”
“Mitch and I have known each other for about 20 years. We have worked together and assisted each other as a smooth team. He has been very sensitive, kind, supportive, and understanding. He listens to people, and tries to understand the basis for the issues that come up, before making a conclusion. His comments along the way have also been very helpful in solving problems”
