Mitchell Eckstein, LCSW

With 30 years of experience as a therapist, I excel in listening and validating my clients' feelings to help clarify and tackle their challenges. From our first conversation, clients feel a genuine connection. With a background as a gay Jew with ADHD, I deeply understand diversity and challenge. My goal is to assist individuals in accepting their differences and fostering a happier life.

My approach encourages clients to recognize their strengths, understand the impact of their thoughts, live in the moment, and align their actions with their core values. Clients soon experience satisfaction from new skills and positive changes. I have significant experience helping people and their families manage disabilities, chronic illnesses, sexual identity and orientation issues, as well as anxiety, depression, shame, trauma, and anger.

I hold an MSW from Ohio State University, have over ten years of mindfulness training and practice, and was trained in using TEAM Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to treat anxiety, depression, and trauma by Dr. David D. Burns, a renowned professor of psychiatry at Stanford University. Let's explore how I can support your unique journey.

Mitch and I have known each other for about 20 years. We have worked together and assisted each other as a smooth team. He has been very sensitive, kind, supportive, and understanding. He listens to people, and tries to understand the basis for the issues that come up, before making a conclusion. His comments along the way have also been very helpful in solving problems.

Mitch is an adept, compassionate clinician who exercises cultural humility. He applies cognitive behavioral therapy as his core approach. The resulting therapy path is purposeful, and time-bound, allowing his patients to recover in a short amount of time.
